Raw Chocolate Brownies for the Weekend

Ingredients (makes 20 brownies)

  • ½ cup of ground almonds
  • ½ cup of ground seeds (such as de-shelled hemp seeds, pumpkin or sunflower)
  • 1 cup of cashew nuts
  • 1 cup of dates
  • ¾ cup of cacao powder
  • 2 tbs of maple syrup (or local raw honey)

Method

Soak the dates and cashew nuts in separate bowls for between 15 minutes and 1 hour and rinse.

Place all of the ingredients into a blender (except for the dates and maple syrup) and blend until powder-like, then add the dates and then the maple syrup and re-blend.

Pour into a tin or silicone mould and press it flat down with your hands until it forms a giant bar. Place in the fridge to set for 15 minutes. Then it’s ready for you to cut up and eat.

This will keep for over a week in the fridge.
