Silver Cross has been busy creating two new next-generation travel systems that embrace an intelligent, sustainable design. Dune is the brand’s new compact urban stroller ideal for city-living, while Reef is Silver Cross’s stylishly suburban pushchair perfect for any and every adventure. We got our hands on the Silver Cross Reef to bring you this review – just in time for summer strolling.
The Silver Cross Reef is a multi-terrain stroller designed to integrate seamlessly into modern family life. As you’d expect from Silver Cross, Reef is beautifully crafted and expertly engineered to offer both you and your child the ultimate in comfort.
Out of the box, the pushchair was super-easy to assemble. There was no unnecessary plastic packaging to unravel and the pushchair’s parts were simple to click into place. I found myself ready for adventure in a matter of minutes. There’s no denying, on first appearance, Reef is a gorgeous-looking pushchair. Its sturdy frame and puncture-proof wheels together with an easily accessible storage basket ticked a lot of boxes.
On getting out of the house, it was immediately evident that the pushchair’s intuitive design extended beyond that of assembly. Its enhanced 4-wheel suspension offered a smooth ride and excellent manoeuvrability. With a one-handed push, you can manage a really small turning circle, which came in handy for both pavement and park.
All-terrain travel systems can feel hefty on foot, but the Reef felt effortless, even with an older toddler on board. My son is three years old now, but he still needs a pushchair on days out and for the frenzied walk to school every morning. The Reef offers even the biggest kids a spacious and comfy world-facing seat from which to travel in.
Luxury brand Silver Cross is known for its premium products, and Reef is no exception. The suburban pushchair offers the ultimate comfort for both parent and baby while embracing every kind of adventure. The GeniusTM harness incorporates a quick-to-use magnetic buckle with a rucksack-style fastening. The headrest and harness can be adjusted with one hand, and you can switch between positions with the push of a button, so it’s great for fast-paced family life on the move.
In general, the Reef feels robust and built to stand the test of everyday life. Its fabrics look and feel luxurious. Tactile tailoring and earthy tones are complemented by polished touchpoints and metallic surfaces.
Reef’s easy, unique one-hand fold allows the pushchair to stand independently on its own four wheels. This prevents the buggy’s vegan handlebar from touching the floor, keeping it dirt and scuff-free. The pushchair folds down to a fairly compact size for storing and has a carry handle so you can transport the buggy from A to B with relative ease.

Reef is an excellent choice for your child’s first pushchair, offering you a solution that will grow with your child and last the duration. The pushchair can be paired with a range of newborn accessories, including a newborn pod and first-bed carrycot.
The newborn pod simply clicks onto the seat for a safe and secure fit, with a supportive head hugger and breathable bamboo lining for comfort. The first-bed folding carrycot is approved for overnight sleeping, with a thermo-moulded base and bamboo lining, folding flat for easy storage and transportation.
The stroller is also compatible with the award-winning Dream i-Size infant carrier, perfect for bringing your precious bundle on the first journey home from the hospital.
Silver Cross is a brand making strides in the sustainable arena, using outer fabrics woven with yarn from recycled plastic bottles. As touched on earlier, the pushchairs arrive in specially designed recyclable, FSC certified packaging to reduce waste.
Suitable from newborn to approximately 3 years of age, Reef is available to buy at silvercrossbaby.com and independent retailers from April 2022. Bundle packs are available from £895.
