You don’t need fancy toys to keep kids entertained. BB and I have spent pretty much every afternoon after school this week playing this sliding bowl game. Every spare moment BB has, he runs off to where we have it set up and has a quick go.
Make sure you follow my activities board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pi for later.
Place the loo roll tubes at one end of the table and put a ball on the top of each one.
The object of the game is to slide the bowl from the other side of the table and try to knock one of the balls off the loo roll tube and into the bowl.
Rather than switching goes after every try, we said that each person gets 10 slides in a round. Then the next person has their 10 slides.
You can set the how to win the game yourself. We played it with whoever gets the most balls in their bowls at the end of the game wins.
I kept score for each of us, but BB took umbrage with this. He wanted to keep score for me, which was a wonderful way for him to practice his writing and sounding out, without him even realising it.
If you enjoyed this sliding bowl game, be sure to check out my work counter shuffleboard and indoor mini golf.
