Super Smoothies for Summer
Smoothies are a great way to pack in all of your 5-a-day fruit and vegetables, a great snack, and a quick fix for morning breakfast. So we’ve put together a list of our favourite smoothies with beneficial vitamins and ingredients, to help you get ready for the day ahead!
Creamy Mango & Coconut Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 200ml (½ tall glass) coconut milk
- 4 tbsp coconut milk yoghurt
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed, sunflower and pumpkin seed
- 120g (¼ bag) frozen mango chunks
- 1 passion fruit, to finish
Directions:
- Measure all the ingredients or use a tall glass for speed – they don’t have to be exact.
- Put them into a blender and blitz until smooth.
- Pour into 1 tall glass (you’ll have enough for a top up) or two short tumblers.
- Cut the passion fruit in half, if using, and scrape the seeds on top.

Super Berry Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 450g bag frozen berry
- 450g pot fat-free strawberry yoghurt
- 100ml milk
- 25g porridge oat
- 2 tsp honey
Directions:
- Whizz the berries, yogurt and milk together with a stick blender until smooth.
- Stir through the porridge oats, then pour into 4 glasses and serve with a drizzle of honey.

Ingredients:
- 1 avocado, skin and stone removed
- 2 tablespoon wheat germ
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- 150 ml skimmed milk or unsweetened almond milk
Directions:
- Add all the ingredients to the NutriBlitzer™ cup and fill with water to the MAX line.
- Blend together for about 1 minute until a smooth consistency has formed.

Mango & Banana Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 medium mango
- 1 banana
- 500ml orange juice
- 4 ice cubes
Directions:
- Cut the mango down either side of the flat stone, then peel and cut the flesh into chunks.
- Peel and chop the banana.
- Put all the ingredients into a food processor or blender, then process until smooth and thick. Keep in the fridge and use the day you make it.

Bone Builder Smoothie
Ingredients:
- ½ avocado, peeled, stoned and roughly chopped
- generous handful spinach
- generous handful kale , washed well
- 50g pineapple chunks
- 10cm piece cucumber, roughly chopped
- 300ml coconut water
Directions:
- Put the avocado, spinach, kale, pineapple and cucumber in the blender, top up with coconut water, then blitz until smooth.

Anti-Oxidant Smoothie from ‘The Nutri Blitzer Recipe Book’, available from JML
Ingredients:
- 1 cooked beetroot
- 10 blueberries
- 10 raspberries
- 4 strawberries
- ½ lemon with rind
- 1 teaspoon green tea powder
- 2 brazil nuts
- Water
Directions:
- Add all the ingredients to the NutriBlitzer™ cup and fill with water to the MAX line.
- Blend together for about 1 minute until a smooth consistency has formed.

Banana-Peanut Butter Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 small banana
- ½ c. milk
- 1 tsp. creamy peanut butter
- 3 ice cubes
Directions:
- In a blender, combine banana, milk, peanut butter, and ice cubes; blend until mixture is smooth and frothy. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

Jump-Start Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 175g frozen strawberries
- 90g fresh blueberries
- 90g fresh orange juice
- 2 tsp. chopped and peeled fresh ginger
- 45g plain low-fat (1-percent) yogurt
- 2 cubes of ice
Directions:
- In blender, combine strawberries, blueberries, orange juice, ginger, yogurt, and ice cubes.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down side of container occasionally.

Ingredients:
- 1 handful of spinach
- ½ cup watermelon
- ½ lemon without rind
- 1 teblespoon honey
- 150 ml coconut water
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to the NutriBlitzer tall cup.
- Blend together for about 1 minute until a smooth consistency has formed.

Forest Fruit & Banana Smoothie
Ingredients:
- frozen fruits of the forest
- banana
- low-fat fruits of the forest yogurt
Directions:
- Whizz frozen fruits of the forest and sliced banana in a food processor with low-fat fruits of the forest yogurt.

Vitamin Booster Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 orange, peeled and roughly chopped
- 1 large carrot , peeled and roughly chopped
- 2 sticks celery, roughly chopped
- 50g mango, roughly chopped
- 200ml water
Directions:
- Put all the orange, carrot, celery and mango in the blender, top up with water, then blitz until smooth.
