Activities & Days Out / 2 October, 2020 / My Baba
Looking for gory games, creepy creations and eerie extras to throw the ultimate Halloween party? Sharky & George know how to help with this to make a party freaky and frightening.
Skeleton Memory Scavenger Hunt
You may need to order some bits online for this one but you can definitely use some household products. All you need to do is a prepare a table with 10 themed items on it, like:
– Plastic bones
– Plastic spiders
– Sweets
– Paper bag with three holes (eyes and mouth) to look like a ghost
– A broom
Cover the table with a large towel and gather all the children around the table and say that when you take the towel off, the children have 40 seconds to remember everything on it. Then hide all the items around the house and it’s a race to be the first person back with all 10 items the fastest. Alternatively, time the race, and see who has the most correct items.
Blindfold Taste Test
Fill 5 jars with delicious and not so delicious treats such as really sour gobstoppers, edible bugs, horrible flavoured jelly beans, chocolate and nice sweets. Make sure the children can’t see in the jars and split them into two teams. Each team has to nominate one person to step forward and be blindfolded. When they are blindfolded they have to choose one jar and guess what they are eating. If they guess correctly they get a winning point! They take it in turns until everyone has tried one of the surprise jars.
Rice Krispies Gooey Brain Making
This is simple and delicious! All you need is:
Start by melting the marshmallows and butter in a heatproof bowl over hot water. Once they have melted, pour it into another bowl with the Rice Krispies and continue to stir until it forms a sticky mixture. Then you need to place some baking paper on a baking tray. Following this, cover your hands in sunflower oil to avoid the stickiness ahead of the brain shaping. Once your hands are greased, evenly split the mixture and shape into circles and place on the baking tray. Use a handle from a piece of cutlery (spoon/knife/fork) to press down along the centre of each piece to create a groove down the middle. Cover all the clusters in messy red icing and voila, ‘Gooey Brains’!
Marshmallow Monster Eyeballs
For this you’ll need a packet of white marshmallows, white chocolate, smarties and red and black edible pens. Start my drawing red squiggly lines on the marshmallow to give the effect of a bloodshot eye. Then draw black dots on all the smarties to create the eyeballs. To stick the eyeballs to the marshmallows, you’ll need to melt the white chocolate and use it like a glue. Place a pea sized amount of white chocolate on the marshmallow and lightly place the smartie onto it. Place in the fridge for about 30-40mins or until the chocolate sets. Then the ‘Monster Eyeballs’ are ready to serve!
Trick or Treat
Sharky & George offer an excellent service for the best night of the year – trick or treat chaperoning! Their guys will collect your children from your house and accompany them on an epic Halloween adventure around your local area. There will be lots of fun Halloween games along the way and the children will learn great spooky jokes to tell your neighbours when they answer the door.
Face Painting
There’s nothing like having a totally awesome face painter at a party to make all the children look freaky and fantastic!
