National Walk To School week (17-21st May) is an awareness week that takes place up and down the country in May every year. Living Streets, the UK charity that promotes walking for local journeys, is behind the week that creates fun and interesting challenges for schoolchildren to complete on their journeys to school. The charity, that we can thank for the introduction of speed limits and the UK’s first zebra crossing, is on a mission to making walking safer and help people understand the health and wellbeing benefits of walking regularly. In line with this initiative, we’ve compiled a list of things that’ll encourage and make it easier for you and your family to get active as part of National Walk To School Week and beyond.
Don’t forget to visit the Living Streets website to download your pack with everything you’ll need for teaching your family about the importance of walking to school.
