In Review: Avionaut MaxSpace Comfort System+ High-Back Booster

As a parent, choosing the right car seat for your growing child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Safety, comfort and ease of use are all top priorities, and finding a seat that ticks all those boxes can be a challenge. Enter the Avionaut MaxSpace Comfort System+—a high back booster that’s quickly become a favourite in our family.

Safety First: Peace of Mind on Every Journey

Built with side impact protection, Avionaut MaxSpace Comfort System+ is a high-back booster designed for forward-facing travel. It’s suitable for children from 100-150cm, roughly ages 6 to 12 years (15-36kg), so it’s built to grow with your child.

What first caught my eye was its R129/03 certification, which is a newer and more rigorous standard for child car seats. Knowing that it also has a positive ADAC test result added an extra layer of confidence.

Comfort That Grows with Your Child

Developed in collaboration with ergonomic experts, the MaxSpace is built for comfort. The seat features profiled deep seating and additional padding that naturally contours to the pelvis and lower spine, offering excellent support and protection. The lumbar and cervical support are especially noteworthy—they help maintain a good posture and prevent any discomfort, even on longer trips.

The seat is also impressively wide at 44cm, making it one of the most spacious in its class. The backrest tilts to a resting mode, a rare feature in car seats, which is perfect for those times when your child needs a quick nap on the road. Plus, the effective ventilation system keeps kids cool, even on warmer days.

Ease of Use: A Win for Busy Parents

One of the standout features for me is how easy the MaxSpace is to install. You can either use the car’s seat belts with the handy belt routing guides or opt for the Isofix connection, which provides extra peace of mind with its colour indicators for correct installation. The headrest is adjustable across a substantial range, which is great because it means the seat grows with your child. The unique headrest setting indicator is a lifesaver, ensuring the headrest and car belt height are always perfectly aligned.

The Avionaut MaxSpace Comfort System+ is a great investment in your child’s safety and comfort. With its AGR accreditation from the German Association for Healthy Back, adjustable features, and easy maintenance (soft-touch, machine-washable fabrics are a blessing), it’s clear that this seat has been designed with both children and parents in mind.

Available in six colours with a ten-year warranty and a post-accident exchange scheme. RRP: £279.
