Always wear sunscreen

The most important rule of skincare is to always wear a 365-a-year sunblock. It must be mineral based, containing titanium dioxide. SPF30 is suitable for most of the year, but during the summer months, move up to SPF50. Buy plain sunscreen products, do not consider it enough if your moisturiser or foundation says it contains sunscreen.

You may be looking to achieve the glass skin look, which the Korean market has made popular. The skin has to be light reflective, extremely hydrated, and completely smooth. Only your age group can have this, and to achieve it, there are a few things you need to know. Hydration is key.

How to achieve the glass skin look

Choose your favourite brands and experiment.

Cleanser

Using a cleanser is essential to remove dirt, oil, and impurities, keeping your skin clean and preventing breakouts. Choose something soft and mild that does not strip the skin of moisture and the skin’s natural microbiome.

Toner

Glycolic acid or Saccharomyces ferment milky toners are both naturally good exfoliators.

These ingredients act as natural exfoliators, gently removing dead skin cells and promoting a smoother, clearer complexion. Glycolic acid helps to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of pores, while Saccharomyces ferment boosts hydration and enhances skin texture. Avoid scrub-type exfoliators, as they can cause microtears and damage the skin. Instead, opt for these gentle, effective toners to maintain healthy, glowing skin.

Serums

Drench your skin with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.

Incorporating serums with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide into your skincare routine can be transformative. Hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates the skin, ensuring it stays plump and moisturised, while niacinamide works to even out skin tone, reduce inflammation, and minimise pores.

Moisturiser

For teens and twenties, using a light moisturiser containing ceramides is essential for maintaining healthy, hydrated skin.
