Sticky Christmas Tree Activity

Back in September I recreated my sticky autumn tree activity for NC.  It was a huge hit with her, and as I sat there watching her put the leaves onto the tree, I remember thinking, “this would make a great activity for Christmas.”  Little did I know that social media had a similar idea.  This sticky Christmas tree activity has been viral hit on the run up to Christmas.

To do your own sticky Christmas tree activity you will need:

• A big piece of card stock – like an A2 poster size
• Sticky back plastic
• Coloured card*
• Scissors

*Most of the viral videos of this use pom poms to fill up their trees, but I didn’t fancy buying lots of them.  Instead, I cut out circles from coloured card that I already had.

Draw a big tree on your card and cut the inside out.

Cover the back of that card with your sticky back paper.  Next tape it up to your wall, making sure that sticky back plastic is facing out through the tree cut out.

Put your decorations, be it pom poms or paper shapes, in a little container by the tree and let your little one decorate away.  NC knew exactly what to do with this.  She had used up all the circles by the end of the day.

This is not only a lovely activity to keep little ones entertained but also makes a fantastic addition to your Christmas decorations.
